Dogs at the beach!!

The dogs are playing at the beach. I can smell the salty sea. I can see the ocean, the seagulls and the shops.

I am thinking that the dogs are playing and having fun because I have seen them barking with joy and they are also jumping and prancing around. Seeing  the hot sand and feel it burning my paws is like living in lava.

I smell the fish ‘n’ chips in the air. I can see the shallow blue sea. I can hear the cars and the people rumbling.

I can see people getting a tan. The taste of rubbery tennis ball in my mouth makes me feel like chewing straight through the ball. I feel the cold shivering water and I can feel the waves splashing against me.

Walking home was exhausting and tiring. While I was walking home I can smell the air coming out of the mufflers.

Rock Warriors

Many years ago, before the Maori explorers found the beautiful wonderful lakes of Rotorua. There were other people who lived there they were called the patupaiarehe. The Patupaiarehe were the small people of rotorua, they had a fierce enemy who wanted all the goods for themselves. They were called the Kaimai. The Kaimai were huge ugly ferocious monsters.

One day the Watchguard saw some tree shaking and felt the ground rumbling. He knew the wind wasn't shaking the tree because the wind was so calm. The watchguard knew the Kaimai were coming to pillage  goods and take their land. The watchguard called some of the small birds to smell and scout the area for any Kaimai. The Birds came back and and communicated in a strange way with the watchguard all watch guards communicate with their mentors in strange language. The watchguard ran to the village and told the village leader “that the kaimai are coming”, the village leader name is  Tipau. Tipau is not a man who likes to kill. But he offered his magic to help save the village.

Tipau took a hike up to the highest peak in rotorua. Tipau saw the Kaimais heading in the village direction he used his magic to turn the Kaimai into stone. Many years later the stones still stand there. There are five huge stones so that means there were five kaimai. Today they still stand there marking the mountain where the Patupaiarehe lived.

Cultural walk through

One of my highlights of the cultural walk through was learning about the Iran culture.
It was really interesting to learn that they write backwards compared to the English language .I like their bread because it is flat like a big table. I was pleased that my parents came to our see work.
Room 8: Iran
In room 8 I learned that Iran favourite food is kabab. Iran has lots of modern building it has a tower that looks like the Sky tower in Auckland NZ.
Room 9: Samoa
In room 9 I learnt that Samoa is made out of four islands in the pacific. In Samoa there is only one airport and one Mc donald but a lot of burger king
Room 10: Niue
I learnt that niue is one island and that it is part of New Zealand and the money is the same. There is only one main road around the whole island.
Room 1: Netherlands
In room 1 I learnt that Netherland people wear clogs because the sea level is above sea level and clogs help them keep dry in their feet.
Room 2: Cook island
In room 2 we learnt about the Cook island and what they eat. Their favourite food is taro and raw fish.
Room 4: Tonga
In room 4 I learnt that Tongan people like to eat taro and coconut umu. The capital of Tonga is Nuku'alofa.
Room 7: South africa. In room seven I learnt that South africa is a mixture of white and black people. I also learnt that many of years ago there used white and people who lived in the city and black people were there slaves.
